  Ruth I. (Drumheller) Beam 
   
  Ruth I. Beam NEW FREEDOM Ruth I. (Drumheller) Beam, 82, formerly of Liverpool, 
  passed away peacefully on Monday, July 26, 2010, at the York Hospital. She was 
  born Thursday, July 28, 1927, in Oley to the late Morris and Sarah (DeLong) 
  Drumheller. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Jay L. 
  Beam, Sr., on May 17, 2003, as well as her oldest son, Jay L. Beam, Jr. on 
  November 28, 2009. Although Ruth's real vocation was being a 'Mom', she worked 
  tirelessly on the family farm. An avid gardener, cook, baker and seamstress, 
  her real love was her family. She loved all children, but most especially her 
  grandchildren. Ruth had a dry wit and always brightened any situation. She will 
  be greatly missed by many. Ruth is survived by a son, Jesse L. Beam and wife, 
  Heather of New Freedom; two daughters, Jennifer L. Maupin of Fall Branch, 
  Tenn., and Elmira L. Welsh and husband, Gary of York; seven grandchildren, Kyle 
  and Zachary Beam, Jeremy and Nichole Lund, Sarah Maupin, Kelly Hannah, and 
  Katie Welsh; and three sisters, Marian Long, Grace Grimes, and Helen Woods. She 
  was predeceased by two brothers, Morris and Robert Drumheller; and a sister, 
  Elmira Drumheller. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 2, 2010, at 10 
  a.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., 
  Palmyra, PA, with Pastor Joe Sergent officiating. Family and friends are 
  invited for visitation on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Monday from 9 a.m. 
  until time of the service. Burial will follow in Indiantown Gap National 
  Cemetery, Annville. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Make-
  A-Wish Foundation.
