"Tony" Books, 81, of 113 Stone Hedge Court, died Tuesday, November 23, 2010, in the Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Lois Long Books, with whom he would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in January, 2011. Born in Cleona, on July 30, 1929, he was the son of the late Samuel B. and Emma White Books. He was a self-employed building contractor for 40 years from 1960-2000. He was a former Cleona Councilman and Mayor of Cleona. Tony served in the U.S. Navy and was a 1947 graduate of Lebanon High School. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Cleona; Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F.&A.M.; Tall Cedars of Lebanon; BPOE Elks Lodge #631, Lebanon; Annville American Legion; Friendship Fire Company; Central PA Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame; Former Board Member and President of the Lebanon County Builder's Association; lifetime member and former President of the Cleona Fire Company; and a member and served on the Board of Directors of the Quentin Riding Club. He was an avid sports participant and spectator. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Barry L. Books and wife, Mary Jane Heisey Books of Lebanon; a daughter, Donna K. Books Borrego, wife of Dr. Robert A. Borrego of San Antonio, Texas; two grandchildren, Adrianne Borrego Horn and Robert Anthony Borrego, IV; and a brother-in-law, Larry L. Long and wife, Chris of Palmyra. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Books Brubaker. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 1, at 1 p.m. from the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park. Viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 6:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Immanuel United Methodist Church, 29 E. Maple St., Cleona, PA 17042.
