Bowman JACKSON, MN Janice Mae Bowman, 83 years, five months, and 27 days, entered into rest Monday, August 9, 2010, at the Sanford Hospital in Jackson, Minn. She was born on February 13, 1927, in Berks County, the daughter of Joseph and Esther (Heim) Moyer. She attended Stouchsburg Grade School and later Myerstown High School, where she graduated in 1945. She was united in marriage to George H. Bowman on July 6, 1957, in Myerstown. After marriage, they moved to Lebanon. They moved four times in that town before ending up on E. Maple St. for 17 years. She had worked as a textile screener at an art studio for a few years. She then worked for a chiropractor for a few years before going back to the art studio. She had also worked for a printing company before retiring. On October 21, 1991, Janice and George moved to Minnesota Township, Jackson County, Minn. Then on August 6, 2004, she and George became residents of the Jackson Good Samaritan Center. Janice was a member of the First Evangelical Covenant Congregational Church in Lebanon. After her move to Jackson County, Minn., she became a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Spirit Lake, Iowa. She was active in the women's group and circles. Janice was also a member of the Ladies Home Auxiliary of Minneota Township in Jackson County. Janice was known for her big heart and had a passion of animals. Janice is survived by her husband of 53 years, George Bowman; a brother-in-law, Jack Bowman of Lebanon; and many nieces and nephews. Janice was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, LaRoy Moyer; and two sisters, Alverta Johnson and Betty Johnson. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Jackson Good Samaritan Chapel with Pastor Chris Drew officiating. Inurnment will be in Grandview Memorial Cemetery, Annville. Osterberg Funeral Service, Jackson, Minn., is assisting with arrangements. Blessed be the memory of Janice Mae Bowman.
