Boyer, Sr. passed away Monday, September 27, 2010, in Brownsburg. He was employed as a supervisor of the Lipton Tea Co. for 20 years in Harrisburg. A graduate of Lebanon High School, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946. During that time George earned the Pacific Theater Ribbon (two Stars), American Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon (one Star). He was born November 19, 1925, in Lebanon, to Robert Boyer and Lillie (Heagy) Boyer. He was preceded in passing by his parents; brothers, Charles, Robert, and Harry; and sister, Lillie. George and his wife of 63 years, Annie (Olar), were married on December 6, 1946. He is survived by his wife, Annie; daughter, Bonnie (Boyer) Clark of Melbourne, Fla.; and son, George W. Boyer, Jr. of Harrisburg. A memorial service was held at Messiah Lutheran Church on October 1. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
