Cocker, 84, formerly of Allentown and Myerstown, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at Wesley Enhanced Living, Doylestown. He was the husband of the late Ruth Darr Cocker. Born in Patterson, N.J., Mr. Cocker was the son of the late James and Mary Ricker Cocker. James graduated from Allen High School, Allentown, class of 1944. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a professional flight engineer who retired from Overseas National Airlines and traveled the world extensively. Mr. Cocker is survived by his daughters, Karen Smith and Joanne Berko; sons, Bruce, Thomas, and Robert; and seven grandchildren, Mallory, Courtney, Kalyn, Evanne, Zachary, Camden, and Tatum. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2010, at J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16 and Hamilton St., Allentown, 18102. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the service. Interment will also be held on Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, RR #2 Box 484, Annville 17003. In lieu of flowers, contributions in James' name may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
