Congello, 95, died Friday, October 22, 2010, at the Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City, Iowa. He was the husband of Dr. DeLene W. Yocum-Congello, who died in 2001. Born in Jersey City, N.J., he was the son of the late James and Franchesca Costarella Congello. A graduate of Franklin & Marshall College, he received his doctor of osteopathy degree from Philadelphia College of Medicine in 1944. He is a lifetime member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. Dr. Congello was a general practice osteopathic physician on North Duke Street for 50 years. The Lancaster Osteopathic Health Foundation honored Dr. Congello by naming a physician scholarship after him that is presented to future physicians attending the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Congello was a founding member of and volunteer violinist for the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra. He was a member of First Reformed Church UCC in Lancaster. Dr. Congello is survived by his son, Dr. Samuel J. Congello, husband of Patricia K. Endress-Congello, and their children, Jacqueline and Joshua Congello, all of Mason City, Iowa; and his daughter, Karin M. Congello of Pequea. A Visitation will take place from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by the Funeral at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, with The Rev. Robert D. Sherfy officiating, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz. Entombment will be private at Conestoga Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Dr. Congello's memory to First Reformed Church UCC, 40 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 or to Water Street Rescue Mission, P.O.
