Davis, Sr., 71, of Forge Road, unexpectedly transitioned into eternal life on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born in Waynesville, N.C., son of the late Clare Ritchie and William Davis. Albert was a very successful lifelong Tennessee Walking Horse trainer of the highest caliber, managed the horses for the Light Family for the past 25 years, retired from Alcoa Aluminum Co. with 25 years of service, and a was member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Trainer Assoc. for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Charlese Davis, and leaves to celebrate his life his daughters, Anique Gunning of Oberlin and Auvis Davis of Harrisburg; his sons, Vaughn Gibbs of Waynesville, N.C., and Albert Davis, Jr. of Harrisburg; his former wife, Augusta Davis of Seattle, Wash.; his sister, Anrena Davis of East Elmhurst, N.Y.; his stepmother, Essie Davis of Bethune, S.C.; his seven grandchildren; his three great-grands and a host of other relatives and friends.
