DiNovo LEBANON Peter Francis DiNovo, 81, a loving father, father-in- law, grandfather, great-grand father, BeBop of 749 Kiner Ave., died Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the loving husband of Eleanor Mary (Arnold) DiNovo, who died in 2008, and to whom he was married 56 years. Peter was born in Albany, N.Y., on July 28, 1928. He was the son of the late Mario F. and Rosemarie G. (Puhl) DiNovo. He retired from both Lebanon Steel Foundry, Lebanon, and Indian Head Naval Ordnance Station, Indian Head, Md., where he served as Branch Manager and Level III Chief Radiographer of the Industrial X-ray Departments. He was a 1946 graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force. After returning from overseas he was stationed in the Pentagon as a Teletype communications technician during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed walking, gardening, and NASCAR racing, and most of all, family activities. He was a member of Assumption BVM Church where he sometimes served as an usher. He was a member of The Catholic War Veterans Post 1193-PA, NARFE Chapter 0458, Senior Center of Lebanon Valley, Inc., "R" Field and Stream, and The Annville American Legion Post 0559, AARP, and the Friendship Fire Co. Peter was known for his generosity in assisting family and friends with computer problems and any situation or emergency. Surviving are a son, Michael A., husband of Carolyn Litton DiNovo of Lebanon; a daughter, Dianne E., wife of Scot A. Klick of Lebanon; two granddaughters, Michele B. DiNovo, wife of Arthur Bankus, Jr. of Lebanon, and Emily D. Klick, wife of Christopher Gibble of Cleona; two greatgrandsons, Zachary M. Bankus and Wesley A. Bankus; a greatgranddaughter, Stella R. Gibble; a sister, Therese A., wife of William G. Cioffi, Sr. of St. Albans, Vt.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral mass on Monday at 10 a.m. from St. Mary's Church, 2 N. 8th St., Lebanon, 17046. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Viewing hours Sunday evening 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday morning 9 to 9:30 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 S. 9th St., Lebanon, 17042. Recitation of the Rosary will be Sunday evening at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospital, 4th and Walnut Sts., Lebanon, PA 17042.
