M. shabodeho@aol.com August 27, 2010, 7:47 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News from August 25 to August 26, 2010 Lawrence Durden LEBANON Lawrence Durden, 61, transitioned into eternal life on Friday, August 20, 2010, at Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was born in Atlanta, GA., son of the late Evangelist Leo F. and Dorothy M. (Hall) Durden, attended the former John Harris Senior High School, was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, and in his leisure, enjoyed walking, reading and music. In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Durden and leaves to celebrate his life, his sons, Lawrence Anthony Dawson of Harrisburg and Jonathan Durden, who is currently serving in the U.S. Air Force; his daughter, Denea Durden of Toledo, Ohio; his brothers, Leo Durden, Jr., Melvin, Frederick, Pastor Timothy J. and Raymond Durden, all of Harrisburg and Jonathan Durden of Lebanon; his sisters, Phyllis Base of New Jersey, Lavern Morgan of Philadelphia, Velveeta Durden, Gloria Ravenel and Jackie Durden, all of Harrisburg; his two grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. His life will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
