  PALMYRA Esther I. Edwards, 85, died Thursday, September 9, 2010, at the Good 
  Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. Born April 28, 1925, in Jonestown, she was a 
  daughter of the late John and Sara (Gerberich) Schaeffer. Retired from A.S. 
  Kreider Shoe Factory, Palmyra, she was a member of Palm Lutheran Church, 
  Palmyra, and active in the church's Sewing Circle and the Friendship Circle. 
  Also a member of Palmyra Senior Citizens and R.S.V.P., she was a volunteer for 
  Friends at Spang Crest, Lebanon, and enjoyed crafts, family gatherings, and 
  traveling. Surviving are her husband, Earl L. Edwards; children, Jill Edwards, 
  wife of George Beech of Lancaster, Lonnie Edwards of Palmyra, and Pamela 
  Edwards and partner, Frederica Wood of Montrose, W.Va.; brothers, Richard 
  Schaeffer of California, John, Jr., husband of Lois Schaeffer of Jonestown, and 
  Harold, husband of Catherine Schaeffer of Lebanon; sister, Josephine, wife of 
  Samuel Zearfoss of Annville; and granddaughter, Amanda Edwards. She was 
  preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Cindy Edwards. A funeral service will 
  be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at her church, 11 W. Cherry 
  St., Palmyra, preceded by a viewing from 10 a.m. Interment will be in 
  Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Memorial contributions may be made 
  to the American Cancer Society , P.O. Box 1274, Lebanon, PA 17042.
