M. shabodeho@aol.com October 7, 2010, 10:01 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on October 2, 2010 Robert Fackler PALMYRA Robert "Ken" Fackler, 82, met his Lord Jesus, whom he loved and served, on Wednesday, September 29, 2010, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center following a four month battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Helen G. (Keefer) Fackler. He was born Monday, September 17, 1928, in Enhaut, Dauphin County, to the late Ervin and Florence (Clelan) Fackler. He was a 1946 graduate of Hershey Vocational School, served in the U.S. Army, and was a retired electrician, IBEW Local #143. He and Helen were charter members of Evangelical Free Church of Hershey, served as missionaries with TEAM for 14 years, started Sending Out Seniors (SOS), us ministry, volunteered with Global Aid Network (GAiN), and made over 35 work visits to Harvey Cedars Bible Conference. He showed his love for the Lord through his life ministry of serving others, evangelism, and giving back through his talents and gifts. He was an avid Penn State, Hershey Bears, and Steelers fan, but most of all, cherished his time with family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by three sons, Ronald Fackler of Pittsburgh, John Hansell and wife, Amy of Emmaus, and Tracey Fackler and wife, Lindy of Palmyra; two daughters, Brenda Higgins, wife of George of Harrisburg, and Bonnie Bracale, wife of Frank of Palmyra; a brother, Ervin Fackler and wife, Janice of Hershey; two sisters-in-law, Jean Fackler and Shirley Fackler, both of Palmyra; 10 grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Robert Fackler; a granddaughter, Dena Bracale; two brothers, James and Ronald Fackler; and a sister, Lois Stambaugh. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Evangelical Free Church of Hershey, 330 Hilltop Road, Hummelstown 17036 with Pastors David Martin and Paul Haken officiating. Family and friends are invited for viewing on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078 and from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial with full military honors will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to "meals for children" at GAiN, 1506 Quarry Road, Mount Joy, PA 17552.
