Fake, 61, passed away peacefully early in the morning on Friday, June 25, 2010, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Roxanne M. Paulus Fake, whom he married on February 14, 2003. Born in Lebanon, on August 10, 1948, he was the son of Carl E. Fake, husband of Ethel "Toot" Wolfe Fake, and the late Mary Blair Fake. In addition to his wife and father, Carl is survived by one daughter, Amy Fake, fianc"e of Jamie Golembewski of Virginia; one son, Carl E. Fake of Lebanon; one stepdaughter, Julieann Shoemaker, wife of Jot of Chambersburg; one stepson, Justin Paulus of Harrisburg; one brother, Joe Fake, husband of Mary of Lebanon; three sisters, Mary Hoberg, wife of Bob, and Tina Fake fianc"e, of Kenny Heisey, both of Jonestown, and Betty Kindt, fianc"e of Jeff Schade of Annville; three grandchildren; one stepgrandson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, John. Carl retired as a mechanic from the Lebanon branch of the United States Postal Service. He was a 1966 graduate of Annville-Cleona High School and received a Certificate of Education in Elevator Electricity while working for the Post Office. Carl was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He was an attendee of the Waterworks United Methodist Church. Carl was a member and past Vice Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3502, Hershey, and lifetime member of the American Legion Post #265, Hummelstown. He enjoyed horseshoes, tennis, golfing, traveling, gardening, horse racing, and crossword puzzles. Most of all, Carl loved his home and spending time with his family. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 1, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 W. Main St., Hummelstown. Interment with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Township. A viewing will be held Thursday in the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of the service.
