Feather, Sr., 86, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010, in the Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Janice L. Uhrich Feather, to whom he was married 65 years. He was born in Lebanon, on August 27, 1923, son of the late John W. and Myrl R. Corl Feather. He was known to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as "Feather". He was a retired Lineman for MET-ED. He was a veteran of WWII serving as a Master Technical Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, seeing action in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Lebanon, 62 year member of Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forest #25, Marine Corps League, Annville American Legion, Lebanon Senior Center, and the Friendship Fire Co. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, John E. Feather, Jr. and wife, Elaine of Mt. Gretna; grandchildren, Rebecca Feather Gilbert and husband, Lucas of Lebanon, and Peter and wife, Shannon Feather of South Mountain; stepgrandson, Jeffrey Hayden and wife, Rachel of Kensington, Md.; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Kenidee, Thadeous, Benjamin, Kylee, Logan, Samuel, Henry, and Tess; brother, Philip H., husband of Judy Feather of Annville; and sisters, Dorothy, wife of Richard Heilman of North Carolina, and Joanne, wife of William Foeller of New York. He was preceded in death by sisters, Marion Gingrich and Helen Templin. A memorial mass will be celebrated Friday at 12:30 p.m. in St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 6th and Chestnut Sts., Lebanon, where friends will be received Thursday evening 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A Masonic Service will be held Thursday evening at 7 p.m. in the church by Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F&AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his church, 22 S. 6th St., Lebanon, PA 17042. The Rohland Funeral Home, Inc., Lebanon, is in charge of the arrangements.
