Fortna, 80, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2010, at his home. He was the husband of the late Grace D. Fortna. Born in Jonestown, on April 16, 1930, he was the son of the late Clayton H. and Annie M. Bohn Fortna. He farmed his whole life, but also worked in various other areas. He worked in maintenance at the Good Samaritan Hospital and for several years he drove school bus. He also drove charter bus for the Lebanon Bus Co. He retired from the Tractor Supply Co. in 1995. He was a member of the Bunker Hill Evangelical Congregational Church, where he served on the board. He was Vice president for the Fredericksburg Lions Club and board member for the Fredericksburg Community Association. He was a member of the Mt. Olivet Lodge #704, the Bunker Hill Grange, where he served as president, and the Lebanon County Pomona Grange, where he served as vice-president. He was also a member of the PA State Grange and the National Grange. He was one of the original members of the Herald Quartet. He is survived by his sons, Dennis R., husband of Mamo Fortna of Waianae, Hawaii, and David M. Fortna of Jonestown; daughters, Wynanne F., wife of Thomas Demler of Lebanon, Gale R. Kelly of Yardley, and Sandra J. Fortna of Jonestown; brothers, John E. Fortna of Jonestown and Robert C. Fortna of Jonestown; sisters, Esther M. Wentling of Jonestown, Elwanda M. Doberstein of Lebanon, and Anna Mary Nolan of Jonestown; four grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ellen M. Fisher; a sister, Lucille P. Hartman; and a brother, Ronald Fortna. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Bunker Hill Evangelical Congregational Church. Viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 and Camp Meeting Road, Jonestown, and one hour prior to the service at the church. A Masonic Service will be held on Tuesday evening at 5:45 p.m. Interment will be in the Bunker Hill Church Cemetery.
