George MANHEIM Eloise Helen George, 82, of Gretna Springs Community, died Monday, June 28, 2010, in her residence. She was the wife of the late John H. George Sr. She was born on September 30, 1927, daughter of the late Emily Fichtner Coffelt and Charles Milton Coffelt in Harrisonburg, Va. She grew up on a farm near Gettysburg. After graduating from Gettysburg High School in 1945, she spent 3 years at Frankford Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia. She married John Harvey George in 1950 and resided in Folsom, from 1951 to 1989. She worked at Taylor Hospital, Ridley Park, for 37 years as an Emergency Room supervisor. She was instrumental in starting Taylor's first Paramedic Unit. She was active in many ER nurse's associations, Salem Lutheran Church, Lebanon and Gretna Springs Community. She loved camping, travel, reading, her family and church community and especially God. She is the mother of two sons, John H. George Jr. of Boothwyn, and wife Diana and Ronald C. George of Shippensburg, and wife Loretta. She is also survived by a brother, Harry Coffelt of Gettysburg; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the Salem Lutheran Church, 119 N. 8th St., Lebanon where a viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be made in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Relay For Life , Attn: American Cancer Society , Lebanon Unit, P.O. Box 1274, Lebanon, PA 17042. The Rohland Funeral Home, Lebanon is handling the arrangements.
