Gerber, 77, died Monday, June 14, 2010, surrounded by her loving family at her home. Born August 27, 1932, in Palmyra, she was a daughter of the late Roxie and Lucy (Teahl) Lau and was also preceded in death by brothers, Elwood Lau and Charles Lau and sister, Pearl Evans. She retired from the former Uhler's Market, Palmyra, attended First Evangelical Congregational Church, Palmyra, was an avid bowler, and loved to travel with her family, especially to Myrtle Beach. A devoted wife, beloved mother, and caring grandmother, family was the center of her life. Surviving are her husband of 57 years James R. Gerber, Jr.; children, James E., Sr., husband of Donna Gerber of Palmyra, Nancie E., wife of Barth Keck of Palmyra, and Cynthia E., wife of Michael Giffin of Hummelstown; seven grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. Graveside services in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PinnacleHealth Hospice, 2645 N. Third St., Suite 300, Harrisburg, PA 17110; or the Children's Miracle Network, Mail Code A190, P.O. Box 855, Hershey, PA 17033.
