Gibble, 82, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010, at home after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Linda Gibble (Johnson). George was president and owner of Gibble's Paint Store, Lebanon for 38 years. After retiring from Gibble's Paint Store, he worked for Lancaster Carpet Mart until 2007. A life-long resident of Lebanon County, he graduated from Lebanon High School and Lebanon Business College and upon completing his education, was an active member of the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and Mount Lebanon Masonic Lodge No. 226 and is a former member of Jaycees and the Chamber of Commerce. George enjoyed local history and was an active participant for the Lebanon County Historical Society for the past 16 years and previously served on the Board of Directors. He was proud of the Historical Society's preservation of the Union Canal Tunnel Park and especially enjoyed outings there. In addition to his wife, George is survived by his daughter, Beth and son, George. Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 4 p.m. from Salem Lutheran Church, 8th and Willow Streets, Lebanon, PA 17046. No viewing or visitation. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lebanon County Historical Society, 924 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042.
