M. shabodeho@aol.com April 29, 2010, 9:16 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on April 27, 2010 Pedro Gonzalez Jr. Pedro Gonzalez, Jr. MYERSTOWN Pedro Gonzalez, Jr., 56, died Monday, April 26, 2010, at his residence. He was the husband of June E. WhalenGonzalez, to whom he was married 26 years on January 4. Born in Lebanon, on January 30, 1954, he was the son of Pedro Gonzalez, Sr. of Cleona, Pa. and the late Gloria (Colon) Gonzalez. He was a 1973 graduate of Hershey High School; in 1981 he received a B.S. Degree in Human Resources from Pepperdine University, California and in 1989 he received a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University. He had been a Sgt. First Class for the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserves at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation, Annville, for 24 years, retiring in 2000. He served in the Persian Gulf. He was a member of Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Church, Myerstown; member of the National Arbor Assn.; National Rabbit Breeders Assn.; Governors Council of Hispanic Community and was an active member of the Society of Creative Anachronism. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by a daughter, Joele and husband Brad Maus of Sinking Spring; foster daughter, Samantha Bates of Hershey; grandchildren, Alexis, Jacinda and Trenton Maus; sisters, Gloria wife of Frank Pulli of Palmyra, Cecelia Burns of San Diego, Calif., and Aida Waite of Palmdale; brothers, Robert Adams of Hummelstown, Charlie Gonzalez of Annville, and Manuel Gonzalez of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Adams. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 12 p.m. from Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Church, 188 W. McKinley Ave., Myerstown. Viewing Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
