Griffin, 85, died on Saturday, March 27, 2010, in Penn State-Hershey Medical Center, Hershey. Born in Tobaccoville, N.C., May 5, 1924, son of the late Joseph and Annie Ziglar Griffin, he had formerly resided in Hunterdon County from l960-2000 and had then resided in Bradenton, Fla., before moving to Lebanon in 2005. Mr. Griffin was a retired, self-employed tool and dye maker and a United States Navy Veteran of World War II. He traveled extensively throughout the United States and was a member of Host Lodge #4, F.&A.M., High Bridge, N.J. His first wife, Mary Griffin, died in 1996 and a son, Charles Griffin, died in 2004. Surviving are his wife, Mary Fleming Griffin; two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Griffin of Bradenton, Fla., and John and Lori Griffin of Bethlehem; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Douglas Rappel of Alpha, N.J., and Brenda Griffin Sari and John Sari of Greenbrook, N.J.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Kunegunda Cemetery, McAdoo, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
