Haldeman HERSHEY Ada Elizabeth (Eshelman) Haldeman, 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at the home of her son, surrounded by loving family. She was born Monday, July 27, 1914, in Rapho Township, Lancaster County to the late Edwin P. and Annie (Baker) Eshelman. She was predeceased by her husband, Phares G. Haldeman on August 26, 1986. She was a member of Conewago Church of the Brethren, Bible study teacher, retired cook at Snavely Nursing Home, worked at the snack shop at the Brethren Home and read to elderly residents, volunteered at Ronald McDonald House and was a mentor for Kids Hope, started a book club at Columbia Cottage. She enjoyed reading, gardening, family, animals, driving and studying Gods word. She is survived by a daughter, Judith Andreica of Grants, N.M.; four sons, Gern L. and wife, Patricia (Shelly) of Hummelstown, Fred E. widower of Lenora (Shenk) of Freehold, N.J., John E. and wife Claudia (Earhart) of Manheim, and William C. and wife Eleanor (Hoffer) Haldeman of Hershey; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lester P. Eshelman; additional family, Esther Zeager, Grace Daveler, Charles Shoemaker, and Raymond Shoemaker. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Conewago Church of the Brethren, 7035 Schoolhouse Road, Hershey, PA 17033, with Pastor Scott Cooper and William C. Haldeman officiating. Family and friends are invited for viewing on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078, and from 10 a.m. until time of the service at the church. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Annville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Feed the Children, P.O. Box 36, Oklahoma City, OK 73101.
