M. shabodeho@aol.com June 18, 2010, 7:37 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on June 16, 2010 Phyllis K. Hardy Phyllis K. Hardy MOUNT JOY Phyllis K. Hardy, 84, died on June 14, 2010. She was born in Allentown, on March 29, 1926, the daughter of Robert F. and Lillian Bachman Kratz. A 1943 graduate of Allentown High School, she attended Bryn Mawr College and was married to Richard Hardy on May 16, 1945. She, with her family, was a long time resident of Lenox, Massachusetts in Berkshire County. Mrs. Hardy was active in the Junior League of Berkshire County, the Lenox School Committee, the Massachusetts Association of School Committees and she owned and operated The Lemon Tree in Lenox, Massachusetts. She is survived by her husband and five children; two sons, Thomas R. Hardy of Waltham, Mass., and David R. Hardy of Waccabuc, N.Y., and three daughters, Andrea Gustafson of Katy, Texas, Paula Howell of Alpharetta, Ga., and Carla Dowd of Lebanon. She also had eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hardy died after a long illness surrounded by her family at the Hospice of Lancaster County in Mount Joy. A service to celebrate her life is being held at the Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 North Penryn Road Manheim, PA 17545-8562 in the Hoffer Auditorium on Friday at 9 a.m. Visitors are invited to join the family for coffee beginning at 8:30 a.m. If desired, donations may be made in her name to Pleasant View Retirement Community at the above address.
