Hebel, 92, formerly of Grantville, died Sunday, October 3, 2010, at Manor Care, Carlisle. Born April 1, 1918, in Harrisburg he was a son of the late W. Lester and Martha (Brown) Hebel. He retired from Hershey Foods Corporation, was a farmer and had worked for Reading Railroad. A member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Grantville and Chocolate Workers Union Local 464, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was the widower of Kathryn (Schriver) Hebel who died March 17, 1985 and was also preceded in death by sisters, Marjorie Rhoades and Lois Hurst; and brother, H. Lee Hebel. Surviving are his children, Doris, wife of Emmett Gross of Mechanicsburg, Kenneth, husband of Carol Hebel of Grantville, and Donna, wife of Dennis Walmer of Grantville; sisters, Evelyn Flanders of Port Treverton, and Jeanne Freed of Liverpool; grandchildren, Robert Gross, Joelle Mixell, Mark Hebel, Jessica Hebel, Douglas Walmer, Christopher Walmer and Matthew Walmer; and great- grandchildren, Hailey and Hunter Mixell and Jenna and Aimee Walmer. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St. John's United Methodist Church, 165 Firehouse Road, Grantville preceded by a visitation from 10 a.m. Interment will be in Grantville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, PO Box 130, Grantville, PA 17028; or to A Hospice Odyssey, 4660 Trindle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
