Herr, 63, of 445 Crest Road, died on Wednes day, May 5, 2010, at his home. He was born on Thursday, March 27, 1947, to the late Oscar L. Herr and Lucy M. Herr nee Schwear in Lebanon. He worked at Hershey Foods. He was a veteran in the Air National Guard in the Vietnam Era. He was a Load Master in the 168th Military Air Lift Group at Olmsted AFB, PA from 19661975 and TSGT in the 201st Red Horse Division from 1975-1988. He was a member of the last graduating class of South Lebanon High School in 1965. He was a volunteer firefighter for Friendship for 10 years. He enjoyed bowling for Iona, fishing, Washington Redskins, Penn State, Rusty Wallace, movies, and loved his grandkids. Surviving are daughter, Tammy J., spouse of Neil Weidman of Lancaster; son, Michael S. Herr of Lebanon; grandchildren, Ian M. Herr, Lily M. Weidman, and Logan M. Weidman; brother, Gene Herr; sisters, Pauline Martin, Phyllis Moyer, and Doris Rohrer; and several nieces, nephews, greatnieces, and nephews. Viewing will be on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Zion United Methodist Church of Iona, 1920 S. 5th Ave., Lebanon. An evening viewing will be held on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Iona United Methodist Cemetery, Lebanon, following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17604; or American Cancer Society 526 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042.
