Hess, 89, of Jonestown Road, died Thursday, April 15, 2010, at the Palmyra Nursing Home. Born August 22, 1920, in East Hanover Township, Lebanon County, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Grace (Blouch) Miller. Retiring from the former Campus Sportswear, Lebanon, she was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Grantville, the United Methodist Women, Shellsville VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and East Hanover Autumn Leaves. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and a life member of the Grantville Volunteer Fire Company. The widow of Jacob C. Hess, who died December 25, 1988, she was also preceded in death by siblings, John Miller, Sadie Seaman, and Eva Elliott. Surviving are her friend of 20 years, Donald Isett; siblings, Beatrice Peric of Grantville, Paul Miller of Lebanon, Alfred Miller of Harrisburg, and Joan Miller of Grantville; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's United Methodist Church, 165 Firehouse Road, Grantville, preceded by a viewing from 1 p.m. Interment will be in the adjoining Grantville Cemetery.
