"Hush" Hoffsmith, Sr., of 162 Evergreen Lane, died Saturday, March 20, 2010, in Countryside Christian Community, N. Annville Twp. He was the husband of Mildred E. Novotny Hoffsmith, to whom he was married 62 years. Born in Annville, on May 12, 1925, he was the son of the late Paul and Annie Herr Hoffsmith. He retired from Kreamer Bros. Furniture Store, Annville, as a carpet installer after 38 years of service. Hush was U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and a 1943 graduate of Annville High School. He was a member of the Community Bible Church, Palmyra. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Harold E. Hoffsmith, Jr., and wife, Kim of Annville; two daughters, Dianna, wife of Samuel Gossard of Mechanicsburg, and Rebekah, wife of Scott Farver of Palmyra; eight grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; and two brothers, James Hoffsmith of Annville and Earl Hoffsmith of Lawn. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 12 noon from the Community Bible Church, 1849 S. Forge Road, Palmyra. Interment will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with military honors. Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 10 to 12 noon at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Countryside Christian Community, 520 N. Rt. 934, Annville, PA 17003. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville, is in charge of arrangements.
