Houck, 86, formerly of West Pine St., Palmyra, died Sunday, January 31, 2010, in Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. Born July 30, 1923, in South Annville Township, he was the son of the late Allen and Ellen (Eshleman) Houck and was also preceded in death by sisters, Annie Schoffstall and Ida Backus. Retiring from Hershey Foods Corporation, he was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Grantville, Palmyra American Legion #72, a life member of Citizens Fire Company, Palmyra and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife of 63 years Romaine (Crum) Houck; sister, Pauline Coleman of Palmyra; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Buse Funeral Home, 145 N. Grant St., Palmyra, preceded by a viewing from 10 a.m. Interment will be in Hershey Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 130, Grantville, PA 17028; or to United Church of Christ Homes, Benevolent Fund, 30 N. 31st St., Camp Hill, PA 17011.
