M. shabodeho@aol.com September 11, 2010, 10:10 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on September 8, 2010 James D. Karsnitz LEBANON James D. Karsnitz, 78, died Monday, September 6, 2010, in Cedar Haven. He was the husband of Sally R. Peffley Karsnitz, with whom he celebrated 44 years of marriage. He was born May 17, 1932, in Reading, a son of the late Charles J. and Clara Klopp Karsnitz. James retired in 1994 from Cleaver Brooks in Lebanon and after retirement he worked at the Manheim Auto Auction. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Richland American Legion Post 880, and the Newmanstown Athletic Association. He loved following NASCAR, local racing, and in his younger years, riding his bicycle. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons, Jeffrey E. Hollinger of Washington State, and Ronald L. Hollinger of Myerstown; daughter, Kelly R., wife of Alex Norman of Stevensville, Md.; four grandchildren; one great- grandchild; sister, Shirley, wife of Albert Weaver of Franklin, W.Va.; and brother, Lee "Boom" Karsnitz of Manheim. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles "Sonny" Karsnitz. Funeral service will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, with a viewing beginning on Friday at 9 a.m. Interment will be made in the Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association , P.O. Box 1263, Lebanon, PA 17042.
