  Veronica (Schewkun) Kendig 
   
  Veronica Kendig PALMYRA Veronica (Schewkun) Kendig, 83, passed away peacefully 
  on Monday, April 12, 2010, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. She was 
  predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Harold H. Kendig, on Sunday, 
  April 15, 2007. She was born Thursday, March 24, 1927, in Lubotin, Ukraine, to 
  the late George and Natalia (Malymonienks) Schewkun. She retired from Hershey 
  Chocolate Corp. where she was supervisor in the hand wrapping department. She 
  recently was employed at Chocolate World. Veronica was a member of the Palmyra 
  First E.C. Church, where she volunteered with numerous projects including 
  serving as a volunteer at Hershey Park. She enjoyed playing golf with her 
  friends and was a member of Fairview Ladies Golf Club. She is survived by a 
  daughter, Judith K. Arnold and husband, William G. of Annville; two sons, D. 
  Gregory Kendig and wife, Deborah of Harrisburg, and Harry A. Kendig and wife, 
  Stacey of Hagerstown, Md.; four grandchildren, Tara Jones, Zachary Arnold, and 
  Ryan and Morgan Kendig; two great-grandchildren, Kendall and Kolby Jones; and 
  one brother, Valdimir Schewkun of the Ukraine. Funeral services will be held 
  Thursday at 1 p.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. 
  Pine St., Palmyra, 17078 with the Rev. Jan R. Fryer officiating. Family and 
  friends are invited for viewing from 11 a.m. until time of the service. Burial 
  will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, 
  memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Palmyra First E.C. Church, 
  W. Main and College Sts., Palmyra, PA 17078.
