Kline, 87, died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of Lola J. (Line) Kline, to whom he would have been married 60 years on July 30. Born in Jackson Twp., on September 20, 1922, he was the son of the late Paul C. and Edna J. (Klopp) Kline. He was a 1940 graduate of Myerstown High School and attended in Lebanon Valley College, Annville. He served in the 95th Division of the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked as a production planning supervisor at Sterling Drug Co., Myerstown for 36 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Myerstown where he sang in the choir for 60 years and taught Sunday School over 50 years; a member of the Myerstown Lions Club; former member of the ELCO school board and Myerstown Borough Council; Past Commander of the former Myerstown American Legion; charter and life member of the Myerstown VFW; life member of the Richland American Legion Post 880; a former scout master; life member of the Goodwill Fire Co., Myerstown; member of the Keystone Hook & Ladder Co. #1, Myerstown. He coached Myerstown Midget Baseball and played basketball on the Sad Sacks team for the American Legion for many years. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Jeanne wife of Robert Maldonado of Palmyra, PA, Karen Porterfield of Burleson, Texas and Janelle wife of Wade Salem of Myerstown; son, Paul husband of Tammy Kline of Myerstown; nine grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Heberling and brothers, Russell and Clarence Kline. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from Friedens Lutheran Church, Myerstown. The family will receive friends Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Myerstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the 'Memorial Fund' of Friedens Lutheran Church, 301 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067. Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown is in charge of arrangements.
