Koons PALMYRA James Carl Koons, 68, died Monday, December 13, 2010, in Columbia Cottage, Campbelltown, following a stay in The Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born an only child on Monday, June 8, 1942, in Hershey, to the late Robert E. and Verna (Kegerreis) Koons. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Beverly Ann (Miller) Koons; three daughters, Holly R. Fleming, wife of Richard J. Fleming, II of Columbia, Paula Kreischer, fiancee of Robert Heffelbower of Oberlin, and Crystal Donnelly, wife of Bryan Donnelly of Spring City; four grandchildren, Ivy Yost Bentz, wife of Jeremy Bentz, Erin Kreischer, James Donnelly, and Rachel Donnelly; two great-grandchildren, Lily and Maile Bentz; and several aunts and uncles. Jim was an avid gardener, enjoyed restoring antique furniture and antique cars, going to flea markets, and yard sales. Jim was a 1960 graduate of Hershey High School, and a 1964 graduate of Elizabethtown College. Jim retired from Lebanon Seaboard in July of 2008. Jim was an active member in the Hershey Region AACA, having currently held the position of Fall Meet Treasurer as well as past positions of President, Vice President, etc. Jim was also a member of the PA Dutch Region AACA, National AACA, Susquehanna Valley Model A Restores Club, V8 Club of America, NRA, NAFCA, National Model A member for over 40 years, Model A Tool Collector Club, Missouri Wrench Club, and Palmyra Area Genealogical Society. Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family in St. Jacobs Kimmerlings Church Cemetery, Lebanon. Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to The Good Samaritan Health Services Foundation, 209 Hathaway Park, Lebanon, PA 17042.
