  Jere A. Koons NEWMANSTOWN Jere A. Koons, 69, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, 
  February 24, 2010, in the Chambersburg Hospital. He was the husband of the late 
  Linda Bennetch Koons. He was born April 6, 1940, in Bachmansville, a son of the 
  late Roy and Olive Bomberger Koons. Jere was employed for nineteen years at the 
  Lebanon Steel Foundry and retired from Farr's Nursery and Landscaping of 
  Womelsdorf. He was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church of Schaefferstown 
  and served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by children, Andrew, husband of 
  Jodie Koons of Lebanon, and Rebecca Yordy and her fiance', Brett Stermer of Red 
  Lion; brothers, Harry, husband of Carolyn Koons of Fredericksburg, and Lynn 
  Koons and his companion, Peggy Gilmore of Fla.; sister, Janet, wife of Robert 
  Kleinfelter of Jonestown; and a friend, Margaret Weaver of Lebanon. He was 
  preceded in death by a brother, Michael Koons. Funeral service will be held on 
  Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Luke Lutheran Church, E. Main St., 
  Schaefferstown. Interment will be made in the Millbach Cemetery. Friends may 
  call Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 9:30 a.m. until time of 
  service ALL AT THE CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the 
  American Cancer Society , P.O. Box 1274, Lebanon, PA 17042. Clauser Funeral 
  Home, Inc. is handling the arrangements.
