Lingle PALMYRA Wayne Benjamin Lingle, 62, passed away unexpectedly on July 28, 2010, at his home. He was born May 12, 1948, in Derry Township, to the late John Benjamin and Susan Esther (Wert) Lingle. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam era. He graduated from Palmyra High School in 1966 with a perfect 4.0 GPA, Muhlenberg College in 1970, magna cum laude with a B.S. Mathematics, Michigan State University in 1974 with an M.S. Statistics. He worked at the Naval Supply Center in Mechanicsburg from 1988 to 1998 and most recently the Department of Environmental Protection in Harrisburg as a Program Analyst in the Grants Center. He was an American Contract Bridge League Silver Life Master with almost 2,000 master points earned. He was a compassionate man who contributed to many charitable organizations on a regular basis; Biblica, Children International, Fuller Center for Housing, Freedom Works and Judicial Watch to name a few. He is survived by his loving sister, Anita S. (Lingle) Wagner and her husband, Robert L. of Syracuse, N.Y.; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Memorial services will be held Monday, August 9, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078, with the Rev. Jeffrey H. Pretz officiating. Calling hours begin at 10 a.m. Food and Fellowship will immediately follow the service. Private burial with full military honors took place on Monday, August 2, 2010, in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Habitat for Humanity, 235 S. 12th St., Lebanon, PA 17042.
