Long, 88, died Monday, February 22, 2010, in the E.C.C. Retirement Village, Myerstown. He was the husband of Mary Shanaman Long, with whom he celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this past January. Born in Annville on April 2, 1921, he was the son of the late Charles and Victoria Reigle Long. He worked as a diesel engineer for Standard Equipment and Abram Salvage Yard both of Harrisburg and was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Palmyra, the Ralph Forester's Woodcarving Group, Palmyra American Legion, Palmyra Sportsman's Club, and AARP #3612, Lebanon. He was the last of his immediate family and was preceded in death by a son, Gary Long. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. from the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be held with Full Military Honors in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
