Long, 73, died Friday, January 8, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. Born in Lebanon, on July 4, 1936, he was the son of the late Harvey A. and Emma L. (Mori) Long. He was a 1954 graduate of Myerstown High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed at Swonger Construction, Myerstown, for 30 years. He enjoyed sports, especially the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. He also enjoyed fishing, hiking, photography, and train trips. He is survived by sisters, Verna, wife of Harold Keck of Lititz, Grace Drahovsky of Myerstown, and Ruth Greim of Myerstown; brothers, Ralph Long of Myerstown, Lloyd, husband of Dawn Long of Womelsdorf, and Paul Long of Myerstown; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanora Weaver, and brother, Harold Long. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. Viewing Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Myerstown.
