He was the husband of the late Carolyn L. Faber Long. He was born in Rapho Twp. on April 6, 1940, a son of the late Paul H. and Sarah E. Meily Long. He was retired from the Sterling Packaging Company with over 30 years of service. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Lebanon VFW Post #23. He was also an avid Flyers fan. He is survived by children: Ronald E. Long, Lebanon; Cathy wife of Gerald Lynch, Lebanon; James P. Long, Lebanon; Neil D. Long, Fredericksburg; nine grandchildren; one great- granddaughter; brothers: Roy and Leon Long, both of Lebanon; sister: Susan Grimes, North Wales; also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson: Jason Long. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 9, 2010, 10 a.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 5th & Cumberland Sts., Lebanon, where a viewing will be held beginning at 9 a.m. Interment will be made in the National Cemetery at Ft. Indiantown Gap. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Aseracare Hospice, 315 Primrose Lane, Mountville, PA 17554.
