  BRADENTON, FL Miriam Caroline (Sandy) Longenecker passed away on Friday, 
  December 3, 2010, in Braden-ton, Fla. Miriam was born on July 8, 1918, in 
  Broadway, Va., to Daniel M.T. and Mary C. Sandy. Miriam graduated from Palmyra 
  High School in 1935, having grown up in the Hershey-Palmyra area. She also 
  lived in Hummelstown, Annville, and Mechanicsburg before moving to Bradenton. 
  She was a retired federal employee at the former Olmsted Air Force Base and at 
  Indiantown Gap. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church of 
  Bradenton and volunteered at Blake Medical Center where she earned an award for 
  1,500 hours of service. Miriam was the widow of Roy S. Longenecker of Palmyra, 
  who preceded her in death on February 5, 1991. She is survived by a son, Thomas 
  and his wife Bonnie of New Cumberland, their three children and six 
  grandchildren, and by a daughter, Mandy, wife of Rev. Richard Baker of 
  Bradenton, Fla., and her four children, 13 grandchildren and 10 great-
  grandchildren. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Trefz and Bowser 
  Funeral Home, 114 West Main St., Hummelstown, with the Rev. Richard Baker, her 
  son-in-law, officiating. A visitation will be held in the funeral home from 10 
  to 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Palmyra Cemetery on West Cherry St. In 
  lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Lauren O'Hara, a 
  victim of T-cell leukemia, and sent to Tony McEachern, c/o Village Bikes, 3898 
  South Osprey Ave, Sarasota, FL 34239.
