Hershey Medical Center. Born August 18, 1927, in East Hanover Township, Dauphin County, she was a daughter of the late Harvey Nye, Sr. and Enola Simmons Nye. She was a member of Shells Evangelical Lutheran Church, Grantville and Shellsville V. F. W. #9639 Ladies Auxiliary. She was the widow of Lester L. Longreen who died June 13, 1996, she was also preceded in death by a brother Harvey Nye, Jr. and sisters Arwilda Kish and Gloria Tice. Surviving are her children, Pauline D. 'Sue' Smith of Grantville, Alvin H. Longreen of Palmyra, and Kenneth H. Longreen of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren; and 13 great- grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at Shells Evangelical Lutheran Church, 287 Shells Church Road, Grantville, preceded by a viewing from 9 a.m. Interment will be in Shells Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Shells Evangelical Lutheran Church, 287 Shells Church Road, Grantville, PA 17028.
