Marco was born June 8, 1924, in Pottsville, to George Marco and Myrt Coughlin. He grew up in Pottsville and was married 59 years to Jean Spotts Marco. Bill honorably served in the 159th Combat Engineers Battalion in World War II. As a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge, he earned six medals. Bill served as a member of the Goodwill and Liberty Fire Companies of Lebanon, Captain of the Lebanon City Fire Police, member of the Lebanon County Fire Police, Chief of Police in West Cornwall Township, Paint Foreman at Wernersville State Hospital, and coach of little league. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lebanon and a life-long Boston Red Sox fan. William passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, in Lebanon. He was predeceased by his sister, Jean Murray. Bill is survived by wife, Jean Marco; son and daughter-inlaw, David and Brenda Marco, son and daughter-inlaw, Jim and Cindy Marco, and son and daughter-inlaw, Jeff and Debbie Marco; daughter, Lynn Marco; sister, Cynthia Hoak; brothers, Don and Bruce Sommers; grandchildren, Chrissy, Ryan, Megan, and Bernadette; and other extended family members and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 19, at 12:30 p.m. from the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with military honors. Viewing will be held on Monday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
