  LEBANON Matthew J. Mavretic, 84, formerly of Steelton, died Thursday, September 
  23, 2010, in Cornwall Manor. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a 
  retired Master Sergeant with U.S. Army Reserve with 20 years of service. He was 
  a retired Senior Engineer for Bethlehem Steel Corp. Mr. Mavretic was a member 
  of the former St. Mary Roman Catholic Parish, a member of Prince of Peace Roman 
  Catholic Parish, Steelton, St. Lawrence Lodge No. 13 Croatian Fraternal Union, 
  St. Lawrence Adult Tamburitzans, National Federation of Croatian Americans, 
  Life Member of VFW Post 710 and its Honor Guard, and a former member of St. 
  Mary's 50+ Choir. Matthew was the son of the late Matija and Barbara Muzar 
  Mavretic. He is survived by two sisters, Ann H. Rudman of Steelton, and Frances 
  E. Wieloch and her husband, Thomas of Wexford; and numerous nieces and nephews. 
  He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary E. Ballard. Mass of Christian Burial 
  will be celebrated on Monday, September 27, 2010, at 11 a.m. in Prince of Peace-
  Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. 
  Raymond P. LaVoie as celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery with 
  full military honors provided by the Dauphin County Honor Guard. A viewing will 
  be held on Monday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second 
  St., Steelton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to 
  Croatian Franciscan Friars, 4848 S. Ellis Ave., Chicago, IL 60615-1703.
