M. shabodeho@aol.com May 4, 2010, 6:22 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on May 1, 2010 Jean Mays Jean Mays PALMYRA Jean (Wheaton) Mays, 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Ebur F. Mays, Jr. She was born Sunday, December 9, 1928, in Upper Track, W.Va., to the late Earl and Lena (Heavener) Wheaton. She was a faithful member of Derry Presbyterian Church and Derry Seniors. She enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her devoted family - most of all, her beloved grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Karen Griffin, wife of Dr. David of Palmyra; a son, Brian Mays and wife, Roxanne of Fleetwood; two grandchildren, Nikki and John Griffin; three sisters, Louise Mullenax of Upper Track, W.Va., Patricia Swecher of Franklin, W.Va., and Emma Kate Hathaway of Upper Track, W.Va.; and one brother, Richard Wheaton of Florida. She was predeceased by an infant son, David Ebur Mays. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 3, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Derry Presbyterian Church, 248 E. Derry Road, Hershey, 17033, with the Rev. Dr. Richard L. Houtz officiating. Family and friends are invited for viewing from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will follow in Hershey Cemetery, Hershey. Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, 17078 has been entrusted with the arrangements. Contributions may be made in her honor to American Heart Association , 335 S. 8th St., Lebanon, PA 17042.
