Melcher, 53, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2010, in Centre County due to a motorcycle accident. He was the husband of JoAnn Sheidy Melcher with whom he had just celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary April 1, 2010. Born in Burbank, Calif., on July 21, 1957, he was the son of Ethel B. Guers Unger of Schuylkill Haven and the late John H. Melcher. Scott worked for Ingram Micro as a warehouse associate. He was a former member of the Robesonia fire department and was attending HACC to further his education. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles spending time with his grandson Robert and playing with his four beloved pussy cats. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Michelle L. Melcher and fiancee, Carl Boger of Schuylkill Haven; two brothers, Burt Melcher and wife, Jane of Algedones, N.M., and Keith Melcher and wife, Wendy of Exeter Twp., Reading; a grandson, Robert Gyorky who will miss his Bubba greatly. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Luther Unger. Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home Rt. 72 and Camp Meeting Rd. Jonestown. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
