Messinger, 85, of 1414 King St., died Monday, December 27, 2010, in StoneRidge Town Center, Myerstown. She was the wife of Richard L. Messinger, with whom she celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this past August 15, 2010. Born in Avon, on July 12, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Miller Risser. Myrtle was a homemaker and a 1943 graduate of Lebanon High School. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and attended Faith Baptist Church, Lebanon, where she was a devoted Sunday school teacher for over 30 years. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother, she enjoyed babysitting and attending her grandchildren and great- grandchildren's activities, as well as going on family vacations to Hebron Hunting Camp in Cedar Run. Myrtle enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, and crocheting numerous items for family members. Her kind and loving spirit will be greatly missed. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three sons, Gary, husband of Kathy Messinger of Cedar Run, Craig, husband of Marsha Messinger of Myerstown, and Dean, husband of Jeryl Messinger of Cleona; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth, wife of Frank Keath of Lebanon; and a daughter-in-law, Diane Messinger of Lebanon. She was preceded n death by a son, Rodney L. Messinger; and an infant daughter, Beth Ann Messinger. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. from the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
