William Walker Miller found Eternal Peace on Friday, April 23, 2010. He was the husband of Janice (Reedy) Miller. Born in Washington, D.C., on July 16, 1921, he was the son of the late Paul D. and Margaret Adele (Daly) Miller. He graduated from Gettysburg College, where he sang in the chorus. He attended Gettysburg Seminary and was ordained by the Lutheran Church of America on August 3, 1945. He served congregations in Hooverville and Chambersburg before becoming the pastor of St. Luke Lutheran Church of Schaefferstown in 1952. He faithfully served the congregation of St. Luke until his retirement in 1992. At the time of his retirement, Miller Street in Schaefferstown was named in his honor. He continued to visit hospitalized parishioners during retirement. He dedicated his life to serving others and always being there for his family. He is survived by a son, Joel W. Miller and wife, Barbara of Bird-in-Hand; stepchildren, Jeffrey Reedy and wife, Susan of Lebanon, Karen Stump and husband, Douglas of Lebanon, and Timothy Reedy and wife, Diane of Schaefferstown; granddaughters, Marisa Miller, Abby Miller, Laura Ramler, Mary Reedy, and Emily Reedy; grandsons, Tyler Miller, Joshua Reedy, Seth Reedy, and Zachary Goodison; four greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marianna (Crist) Miller; a sister, Margaret Leila (Miller) Gotwald; and a stepdaughter, Cynthia (Reedy) Goodison. A private service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in celebration of his life to St. Luke Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 278, Schaefferstown, PA 17088.
