Mohr HERSHEY James Eugene Mohr, 83, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, in his home from cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Shirley (Stark) Mohr. He was born Thursday, January 6, 1927, in Lancaster County to the late George W. and Sarah A. (Schriver) Mohr. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during WWII, graduated from the Milton Hershey School in 1945, Millersville State College in 1951, and retired from Palmyra School District where he taught math, served as athletic director, head baseball coach, assistant football and basketball coach. He attended the Evangelical Free Church of Hershey. He is survived by four brothers, Wilbert Mohr of Maytown, Harold Mohr and wife, Betty of Bainbridge, Floyd "Don" Mohr and wife, Joan of Marietta, and Herb Mohr of Lancaster; a brother-in-law, I. Bruce Stark and wife, Ella of Goshen, Va.; two sisters-in-law, Donna Huffman and husband, Vergil of Palmyra, and Connie Hess and husband, William of Hummelstown; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Marguerite Gingrich; and a brother, Gene Mohr. A memorial service will be held Monday, November 8, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Evangelical Free Church of Hershey, 330 Hilltop Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036 with Pastor Paul Haken officiating. Private burial with full military honors in Hershey Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Good Samaritan Fund, 1200 Grubb Road, Palmyra, PA 17078.
