Lincoln Ave., died on Thursday, June 10, 2010, at StoneRidge Healthcare Center of E.C.C. Retirement Village. He was born on Saturday, October 25, 1919, to the late Robert A. Moore and Effie Mae Moore nee Emerich in Lebanon. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1937. He was employed at PA State Employment Service for 37 years and retired in March 1980. He was employed for 25 years at Lebanon Unemployment Compensation Office as Supervisor, and at the Lancaster Bureau of Employment Security Office, Manager of Unemployment Office for eight years. Prior to that he was employed at Sterling Wholesale Corp. as a salesman. He was in the U.S. Army for four years and served with 1325th Service Unit, Station Hospital for two years. He was overseas in England, France, and Belgium, at 201st General Hospital for two years. He was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church for 63 years. He was past president Men of Salem and Financial Secretary for 27 years. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Masonic Lodge #226, past president of Post E-Travelers Protection Assn., a 50 year member, secretary of Lanc-Leb Chapter, PA State Retiree Assoc., and treasurer of Senior Center Golf League. He was a softball pitcher for Cornwall AC, involved with American Legion Basketball and Pine Tree Basketball Team. While in the service he played baseball, basketball, and softball with Indiantown Gap Post Team and also played on 1325th SU Station Hospital at Indiantown. He was a faithful Lebanon High Cedars sports fan and Philadelphia Phillies fan. Surviving are wife, Marian M. Moore nee Gernert, with whom he would have share 64 years of marriage in September; daughters, Kathleen M., spouse of Avery Heim of Lebanon, and Lynnette M., spouse of Glenn Beidler, Jr. of Cleona; grandson, Robert G. Beidler; and several nieces. Masonic services will be on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at 9:15 a.m. at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 119 N. 8th St., Lebanon. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church. Memorial services will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association , 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17110; or Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 119 N. 8th St., Lebanon, PA 17046.
