Lloyd Mullen formerly of King of Prussia, died on Thursday, July 22, 2010, in the Lancaster Regional Medical Center, Lancaster. Mr. Mullen was 85 years old and was the husband of Deane (Horrocks) Mullen, who died on January 3, 2008. Born in King of Prussia on March 7, 1925, he was a son to the late Joseph and Jessie (Collins) Mullen. Before his retirement, Lloyd owned and operated McMullen Excavation. He formerly owned and operated laundromats in the Norristown, Bridgeport and King of Prussia areas. Mr. Mullen was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed dancing, bicycling, card playing, skiing, snow mobiling, boating and water skiing. His hobbies also included gardening of which he was so proud of his lawn and gardens. Mr. Mullen was an active member of the West Norriton AMBUCS and its Big Hat Club, the Triangle Club, the Carousel Club and the Penn Coachmen RV Club. A son, Robert L. and his wife, Beth Anne Mullen of Dayville, Conn.; grandchildren, Zachary Mullen, Amber Moyer, and Matthew Mullen; and greatgranddaughter, Ella Moyer also survive him along with his brother, Claude Collins and his wife, Elisabeth of Philadelphia; and his friend and companion, Peggy Reever of York. Relatives and friends are invited to share in Lloyd's ' Life Celebration' on Wednesday beginning at 12 noon at the Boyd-Horrox Funeral Home of East Norriton, PA, 200 West Germantown Pike, (1-800GIVNISH) with funeral services at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory can be made to either the American Cancer Society , 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603; or to AMBUCS, P.O. Box 5127, High Point, NC 27262.
