Nelson, Jr., 76, died Wednesday May 5, 2010, in his residence. He was the husband of Eva Vragovich Nelson, with whom he would have celebrated a 55th wedding anniversary in November. He was born in Pine Grove, on June 8, 1933, a son of the late Harold L. and Arlene Felty Nelson, and step-son of the late James W. Yerger. He was a graduate of Jonestown High School class of 1951, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed by Cleaver Brooks and was elected a State Constable in 1994. He was an active member of Kochenderfer's U.M. Church since 1960 where he had served on the Board of Trustees and as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Brotherhood as well as operated the sound system. He was a member of the Ebenezer Fire Company and had been an Assistant Chief and Fire Chief. He was a member of the Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F. & A.M.; Lebanon County Shrine Club; Zembo Temple and Harrisburg Consistory. He was also an avid Hershey Bears Fan. In addition to his wife he is survived by children, Kim M. wife of Gary Frantz, Lebanon; Michael S. Nelson, Lebanon; granddaughter, Lindsy Frantz, Myerstown; step-sisters, Maxine Gerberich, Hummelstown and Ruth Harris, Allentown; half-brother: James W. Yerger, Jr., Dover, Del.; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers; Kenneth L. Nelson and Ronald L. Nelson. Funeral services will be Wednesday 1 p.m. in Kochenderfer's U.M. Church, 1105 Kochenderfer Rd., Lebanon, PA 17046. Interment will be made in the National Cemetery at Ft. Indiantown Gap. Viewing will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 5th & Cumberland Sts., and Wednesday from 12 p.m. to the time of service at the church. Masonic services will be Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. in the funeral home In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of GSH, 202 Hathaway Park, Lebanon, PA 17042; or to his church.
