Nevin, 75, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2010, at Spring Creek Health & Rehabilitation Center in Harrisburg. He was the husband of Lucille (Hartman) Nevin for the past 52 years. They were married on January 25, 1958. Floyd was born in Lebanon, on February 3, 1935. He was a son of the late William Nevin and Dorothy Loucke. He attended Jonestown High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1953-1957 on the U.S.S. Wisconsin in the Korean War. He was a former employee of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation at both Cornwall and Morgantown Ore Mines. He retired from the Diocese of Harrisburg, where he worked at Villa Vranney in Lebanon, (the former retired priest home). He was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, a former Eucharistic Minister, a former member of the parish council, and a past president of the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Lebanon Senior Center and a life member of the VFW. He enjoyed shuffleboard, attending local softball games, and was a Redskins fan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Betsy, wife of Michael Damitz of Alexandria, Va., Jane, wife of Daryl Girton of York, Steven, husband of Janine Nevin of Harleysville, and David Nevin of Lebanon. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Anne Glant of Lebanon; a brother, Jack Nevin of California; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Ebling. Memorial service 11 a.m. Monday, October 11, 2010, at St. Mary's Church, 2 N. 8th St., Lebanon. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation hours will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Bicentennial Fund.
