Palm, 88, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at Spang Crest Manor, Lebanon. He was the husband of Marion L. (Romig) Palm, to whom he was married 63 years on February 9, 2010. Born in Rexmont, on June 29, 1922, he was the son of the late Harry and Mary (Lineaweaver) Palm. He was a 1941 graduate of Cornwall High School and retired in 1964 as a Master Sgt. in the U.S. Army after 10 1/2 years, where he received the EAMET with three Bronze Stars, WWII Victory Medal, American Theater, Good Conduct Medal-3rd Award, Army Occupation Medal, National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Korean Service Medal. He retired from the National Guard in 1985 where he received the General Thomas J. Stewart-National Guard Medal 1958. He had also been employed at the former Publix Shirt Co., Myerstown, for 22 years. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, Myerstown, life member of the Richland American Legion, and a life member and past commander of the Myerstown VFW Post 6076. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Linda Feeser of Lebanon, Karen, wife of Donald Nixon of Myerstown, and Mary Ellen, wife of Pat Angley of Myerstown; sons, Dennis, husband of Donna Palm of Myerstown, Gregory L. Palm of Mt. Gretna, and Randall T. Palm of Myerstown; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Harry Palm of Stafford, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Hossler; and brothers, George and Roy Palm. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made in his memory to Zion E.C.C., 25 S. College St., Myerstown, PA 17067. Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown, is in charge of arrangements.
