Parker, 78, died Monday, March 22, 2010, in her residence of 1501 Fonderwhite Road, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Ivan S. Parker. Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late John and Miriam Pierce Weaver. A 1949 Lebanon High School graduate, she had received many Home Economics Awards. She was a farmer's wife and for over 50 years enjoyed making and selling opera fudge. However, this past Christmas, due to her illness, she only managed to make a very limited amount. She is survived by two sons, Mikel T., husband of Barbara Parker, and Jody B., husband of Marie Parker, and a daughter, Tanya R. Parker, all of Lebanon; three grandchildren, Christy, Susan, and Corey Parker; one great-grandson, Tyler Parker; two sisters, Dolores, wife of Chester Rittle, and Sharon, wife of John Weaver, both of Lebanon; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Smith, and a brother, John Weaver. She requested no services. The Taylor-Ruffner Funeral Home, Inc., 712 Chestnut St., Lebanon, is handling the arrangements.
